Cyber Essentials covers five basic controls within an organisation I.T. system, which when properly implemented, help to protect against unskilled internet-based attackers using commodity capabilities – which are freely available on the internet. The five controls are:
- Boundary firewalls and internet gateways
- Secure configuration
- Access control
- Malware protection
- Patch management
Our I.T. systems were initially assessed in 2016 and now with them being successfully re-assessed shows we do ourselves what we advise our clients to do and not just pay lip service to matters.
We have helped clients achieve Cyber Essentials certification by managing the assessment and certification on their behalf. Steve Tubby (Business Development) says “we are best placed to help our clients as we know how their I.T. Systems are configured and can provide the assessors with the information they require, making the assessment process more efficient. In addition to helping our own clients, we also help non-clients by evaluating their systems to gather the information required and them undertaking the assessment process for them.”
The benefits of certification to the requirements to Cyber Essentials can help an organisation in many ways
