2014 was our 25th year in business and we wanted to celebrate in a way that involved as many of the local community in which our business has thrived over the years as possible. This meant looking at ways to reach the community at large as well as the business community. The Benjamin Foundation seemed to offer this.
The Benjamin Foundation is a Norfolk charity that exists to help people across the county deal with many of the challenges that life throws at them. Some of these are tough issues like supporting homeless young people, working to improve family relationships and supporting children in schools with issues like bullying.
We help people with everyday issues too such as providing affordable childcare with our nursery and school clubs. We help around 2,000 people each year and provide them with hope, opportunity, stability and independence. Everything we do is driven by the needs of people in Norfolk.

Having grown up in the area MD Peter Green was particularly keen to help with this cause. Peter went to visit the shelter and met some of the residents and people that help run the place. He was bowled over by how much was going on right on our doorstep.
“Taking the opportunity to do some good is great – The Benjamin Foundation do great work with local young people who need some help to get the right start in life, and that is especially relevant with their facilities in Yarmouth. So as a local company through and through we are delighted to support them while celebrating our twenty‑fifth birthday.”
It was at this point that CSS pledged to donate a pound for every support call they received in 2014! Which considering they are a Computing Support Centre is no mean feat. On top of this CSS also hosted a Gala golf event and a drinks reception at their premises with a raffle. The event saw an aray of people from the local business community come together to celebrate CSS’ success. Overall CSS were able to donate over £4,000 to The Benjamin Foundation.
Chris Elliott from The Benjamin Foundation added: “We are delighted that a company like CSS that was born in Great Yarmouth has gone from strength to strength. And to celebrate its success in such a way that will benefit people in this area, is fantastic. We very much appreciate that not only is it individuals and groups who are supporting the appeal but also local businesses as well.”
